We collect information provided in the comments form, along with the commenter’s IP address and browser user agent string, to assist in detecting spam.

A hashed version of your email address may be sent to the Gravatar service to verify if you are using it, in accordance with the Gravatar service’s privacy policy found here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile picture becomes publicly visible alongside your comment.

We advise against uploading images with embedded EXIF GPS (location information) to the site, as this data can be downloaded and extracted by site visitors.

Leaving a comment on our site gives you the option to save your name, email address, and website in cookies for convenience, so you won’t have to re-enter this information when commenting again. These cookies are stored for one year.

A temporary cookie to check cookie acceptance is set upon visiting our login page. This cookie is void of personal data and is removed when you close your browser.

Our site’s articles may feature embedded content (e.g., videos, images, articles), which behaves as if the visitor has gone to the other site directly.

These sites might collect data, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, including tracking interactions if you are logged in to those sites.
