Autism

Autism, also known as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), is a complex neurodevelopmental condition that affects an individual’s social interaction, communication abilities, and behavior patterns. It typically becomes evident in early childhood and persists throughout a person’s lifetime.

Autistic individuals may experience difficulties in various areas such as social skills, repetitive behaviors, speech and nonverbal communication, sensory sensitivities, and specific interests and activities. The severity of these challenges can vary widely among individuals with autism, ranging from mild to severe.

Autism is characterized by a wide spectrum of symptoms and strengths, which is why it is referred to as Autism Spectrum Disorder. Each person with autism is unique and will have their own combination of strengths and challenges.
